Khush Aamdeed! I am Hamza Khurshid from Lahore. I hate cats and love books. But as the saying goes that hate the sin, not the sinner, I would not hate you for loving cats.
So, welcome to my blog.
Hamza Khurshid – Introduction
I am Hamza Khurshid. I am a Digital Marketer, particularly specializing in Blogging & SEO. I am 24 years old, have been a drop-out & currently pursuing Psychology as my passion and future profession.
In this blog, I will be sharing everything about me. Such as:
- My Childhood
- My Hobbies
- My Interesting Experiences
- My Educational Journey
- My Professional Experiences
- My Travel Diaries
Let’s talk briefly about each one of these so that you can better know what to expect from each category of this personal blog.
Childhood of Hamza Khurshid
You must have heard about a catastrophic event which shook the world, namely, 9/11. Well, I was born on the same date. Not on the exact date of this unfortunate event but around 7 years back.
If you are intelligent enough, you must have got my exact date of birth: 11 September 1993.
I was born & raised in Salalah, Oman.
My childhood is full of memories of this wonderful city. Salalah is a comparatively small city as compared to the other cities of Oman, but it is a beautiful city nonetheless.
I spent about first 9 years of my life there. Studying in Pakistan School Salalah, playing in our colony for the rest of the day and then finally, reluctantly, doing the homework for the next day of schools.
Sometimes, the school became a lot of fun. Whenever our teaching staff had to do a meeting, they would do during our break sessions.
But sometimes, the meeting would get longer, so does our ‘recess’. During these long breaks, we would play cricket in our sports ground, had water balloon fights in our classroom and so much more.
Pardon me for getting into much detail, I promised to talk only briefly about all of these categories. So to end the story of my childhood, I would only say that it was tragic.
My father died in a road accident two days before the Eid, the most celebrated day of the whole year. That was the end of my childhood when I was merely……… 9 years old!
Hobbies – What Hamza Khurshid Likes to do in Spare Time?
Hobbies to me are not only limited to ‘spare time’. In my dictionary, there is no ‘spare time’. I am always busy, either in doing my work, reading books, cycling around the town, spending time with my family or attending some educational program.
And Yes! All of the above things are my hobbies. Let’s break them down into a list:
- Work (I do what I love)
- Book Readings (More on this later, folks)
- Cycling (Preferably BABA CYCLE)
- Spending time with my Family.
- Attending Educational Programs
There you have them, a nice little list of my primary hobbies. Other than this, I sometimes enjoy listening to songs (mostly old songs) while riding on a motorcycle throughout the roads of Lahore.
I sing LOUDLY while listening to songs, definitely not a good experience for those near me. 😉
Hamza Khurshids’ Interesting Experiences
I am fortunate enough to have a huge list of interesting experiences in my life. Alhamdulillah. For keeping this page brief, let me narrate only one experience from the list.
About a few years back, I used to read & listen to Orya Maqbool Jan a lot. For those of you who don’t know, he is one of the leading columnists of Pakistan.
One night, while thinking about how could I meet him, I suddenly remembered to make an important phone call. I dialed the number of the person I wanted to call, but on the other end of the call, a strange voice said ‘Hello’.
I wasn’t able to recognize the voice, so I asked the person who he was? Do you know what was his answer?
He said: I am Orya Maqbool Jan, you?
I got so anxious that I dropped the call.
Then in a span of few months, I not only got to meet him but I also was able to travel and work with him in his office.
Interesting, isn’t it?
Hamza Khurshid Siddiqui – Educational Journey
My Educational journey is an interesting one which requires a complete blog post of its own.
But for the sake of discussing briefly, I will let you know why I dropped out of formal education and why I joined back.
When I was doing my Intermediate in Computer Sciences, I got the A grade in the first year of my college. In the second year, I started exploring the questions of philosophy such as:
- Why are we here?
- Where did we come from?
- Where are we going?
- What is the purpose of this life?
- and more!
These were the sort of questions where were not answered in any formal educational institute. Not only were they ‘not’ answered, but they were shunned and the student who would ask them would be labeled as “Philosopher” and “Buddhi Rooh” etc.
These questions and a few other reasons, such as my interest in Digital Marketing & Entrepreneurship led me to the decision of finally dropping out of formal education, and pursuing the non-formal education of my interests.
So why did I came back?
Because I got the answers!
I not only got the answers to my questions (through much hard work, patience, and curiosity) but I also got the reason to pursue formal education to become a certified Psychologist of Pakistan.
